Rule: All direct marketing communications must identify the sender and provide valid contact details.

  1. Where a public electronic communications service is used for the purpose of making a communication for direct marketing purposes, the person using, or instigating the use of, the service shall ensure that the following information is provided with that communication— (a) in relation to a communication to which regulations 20, 21 and 23 apply, the identity of the person on whose behalf the communication is made, and (b) in relation to a communication to which regulations 20, 21, 22 and 23 apply, a valid address to which the recipient of the communication may send a request that such communications cease.
